Gin Experience: Make Your Own Gin

Join us for Sheffield’s premier gin making experience using real stills, a library of botanicals, and heaps of fun

Ever fancied making your own gin? Become a distiller for a day at our immersive gin making experience. At our distillery stationed in heart of Sheffield at Portland Works, a Grade 2* listed building opened in 1879 and the birthplace of stainless steel, you’ll be guided through how gin is made, what makes our range of spirtis so special, and make your own full bottle of gin.

On the Locksley Distilling Gin Experience you can expect…

• Selection of gin and tonics throughout from our range and special seasonal highlights.
• Guided tour of our distillery giving a detailed insight into how we create our craft spirits and our continued commitment to keeping every element of production in-house.
• Guided tasting session where we’ll share with you the origin, stories, and botanical choice behind our products.
• The time of your life in our Gin School where you will have over 100 botanicals at your disposal to create your own unique recipe that you will distil into a full 70cl bottle of gin for you to take away and show off to the world!

Fridays (from May 1st 2026) – 2.30pm – 5pm
Saturdays – 2.30pm – 5pm

Locksley Distilling Gin Experiences are approximately 2.5 hours in duration and are priced at £95 per person. There will also be the opportunity to buy any 70cl bottles of your choice at discounted rates.

Due to the Grade 2* listed status of our premises, including a flight of well-worn protected steps, we thoroughly recommend sensible footwear, and seasonally suitable outdoor clothing. We are deeply regretful that we are unable to accommodate visitors reliant upon the use of a wheelchair.
