VSOT – Navy Strength, Old Tom Gin. Two great gin styles steeped in history, each of their origins a bit of a mystery.

Since Locksley’s earliest days, we’ve always known that we wanted to make various styles of spirits. We were amongst the first to repopularise the ‘Old Tom’ gin – a sweeter style that harks back to 18th century England, when heavy doses of sugar were used to hide certain unpleasant flavours… and ingredients.

Fitting with the early modern history theme, we made our Old Tom gin “navy strength” – a spirit that’s at least 57% ABV, strong enough to still ignite your gunpowder if it gets soaked with gin rations while at sea.

Thankfully, our Navy Strength Old Tom is decidedly modern. A powerfully ‘hot’ Old Tom, this premium craft gin retains a smooth sipping finish meeting with prominent traditional flavours. Our VSOT matches sweet botanical blends with a full-bodied juniper profile – as far as we know there has never been a Navy Strength Old Tom until now.

A dynamic spirit in its own right, this is perfect for gin aficionados and cocktail lovers alike:

    Suffice to say, this really is a very nice gin. I’ve not been one for gins in the past – mainly due to the plethora of so many bad ones on the market – but i would highly recommend this and the other Robin of Locksley Gin which is equally great. Its nice and smooth and the flavours are well balanced. These guys know their gin.
