The 1620s House & Garden Co-Lab® Botanical Spirit
Made in conjunction with the historic 1620s House and Garden at Donington le Heath, Leicestershire. Inspired by, and distilled using botanicals growing in their beautiful 17th-style century garden, we’ve created a delicate, complex, and flavourful botanical spirit blend that reintroduces once-common staples of the medieval country home for today’s discerning drinker.
Many herbs, botanicals, and plants were once distilled as part of daily life to make medicines, tinctures, and tonics for treating a vast number of ailments. Over the past year, we’ve been experimenting with some of these ingredients grown today at the 1620s House and Garden to explore now-overlooked flavours, bringing them together into a unique drinking experience as a botanical spirit blend.
Bold dill and applemint meet soft bitterness of alecost (the flavouring of beer before hops), balanced with crisp hyssop and salad burnet, and rounded off with aromatic sweet bay leaf. Perfect to try as a dry aperitif or mix into a long drink over ice with soda water or lemonade.
